Des Knaben Wunderhorn - About this recording

The conductor Adam Fischer was chosen as Conductor of the Year 2002 by the Ger-man music critics, and in Denmark he has also become the critics’ darling for his concerts with the Danish Radio Sinfonietta. Adam Fischer and the DRS released 2002 a superb recording of Des Knaben Wunderhorn, Mahler’s song cycle for orchestra and soloists.

The two soloists are Bo Skovhus and Anna Larsson. Bo Skovhus is regarded as one of the best Lie-der singers of the day and is a favourite with audiences all over the world. Anna Larsson has made Mahler her calling card, and conductors with whom she has recorded include Abbado and Esa-Pekka Salonen.

The CD release is complete with an extensive booklet in Danish, German and English, with essays by the internationally renowned composer and writer Karl Aage Rasmussen, DR producer Valdemar Lønsted, and Adam Fischer.
