About Lucio Silla

One of the great musical events of 2002 was the concert performance of Lucio Silla at the Radio House Concert Hall, conducted by the superb Hungarian Mozart specialist Adam Fischer. The concert was an overwhelming experience for the audience and critics alike, who were unstinting in their praise: “A miracle of an opera, performed as such by the DRS and a splendid team of soloists”, “Fischer’s view of Mozart is not only fiery and dramatic but also light and colourful”, “Four fabulous prima donnas on the same platform! Talk about spoiling the audience!” “Mozart’s Roman candle … a triumphal progress!"

The DR recording of Lucio Silla is now available on CD with a ritzy cast including Lothar Odinius, Simone Nold, Kristina Hammarström, Henriette Bonde-Hansen, Susanne Elmark, Vokalgruppen Ars Nova, and the Danish Radio Sinfonietta, conducted by Adam Fischer.
